    The brick built barn with tiled roof, hipped, stands at the top of the orchard shown ???  Both barn, or stables and orchard are Manor property and used to be leased with the Old Post Office.

  • Marie Corelli's autograph

    Given to Mrs Hammond on 5th April 1921 when she went to the aid of the occupants of a car that had collided with a baker's cart opposite the Old Post Office, mounted the grass verge and almost overturned. She took the two passengers in to her home and gave them tea while their chauffer righted the car. The passengers were the novelist Marie Correlli and her companion who had been driven out from their home, Mason Croft, in Stratford upon Avon. Mrs Hammond treasured the autograph they left with her.

    This end of the house is gabled.  Cotswold House which stood at right angles to this end wall was demolished in 1969 and the land taken in with the garden of this house.

    Listed: 3/7A III.  House.  C 17/18.  Stone.  Welsh slate roof.  2 s[torey].  4ws.  (3 - and 4 - light stone mullions and dripmoulds, some blocked).  Flate arched moulded stone doorway.

    This end of the roof is hipped, the other end is gabled.  Since the List was compiled the windows have been unblocked.  The roof at the back is Cotswold stone.
